North Hampton cemetery is a private cemetery formerly known was Root Cemetery at the end of Radcliffe road near the town of North Hampton. North Hampton was a stop on the Peoria to Galena stage coach trail. Radcliffe road is not paved so access is limited to good ground conditions. The cemetery is fenced but accessible to visitors. Many of the stones have been moved and are scattered about. It was deeded to Hallock Township and has been maintained as a prairie and burned at intervals to maintain the prairie and destroy shrubs and trees.
