George Arbon was 15 when he left for Canada as a British Home Child. He was sent by the Church of England Waifs & Strays, departed Liverpool on the Victorian April 27, 1905, arrived May 7, 1905 at the Gibb Home in Sherbrooke Quebec. He travelled with his brother, Frederick Arbon, 14. (1890-1962)
Younger brother Herbert William Arbon (1897-1972) would follow them in 1912 with Barnardo's and serve for Canada in WW1.
