Services for Carol Skogen Haygood, 64, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at Bustard's funeral home in Casper, Wyo.

Carol passed on Nov. 20 with her family by her side while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Carol was born on Nov. 27, 1948, in Powell, Wyo., the fourth child to Mr. and Mrs. M.J. "Scoop" Skogen. Her family remained in Powell until 1951, when they made the move to Casper.

This is where she called home until her marriage to Michael Barnish. To this union a son, Bradley was born. The two were later divorced, but she always considered Mike a dear friend, and the two were always in touch.

As she moved forward with life, she was married to the love of her life, Robert Haygood. She and Bob loved to dance and could usually be found wearing holes in a dance floor, a living room floor or in the kitchen linoleum. A daughter, Lacey J., was welcomed to the family, and the family became four. Carol's children kept her very busy with their activities, and she was always their biggest fan. During rodeo season, she made the long hauls in the truck from rodeo to rodeo and could always be heard cheering from the stands come rain or shine.

Her two grandchildren, Brayden and Brayleah Barnish, brought love, joy and smiles to her each day. She was so proud of them and loved each beyond words.

She cherished her family and her friends, many of whom were adopted into her family as her own. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, and when the chips were down, you could always count on her. She was known to many as Mom, Grama Carol, Favorite Aunt Carol, Miss Carol and Magic Aunt Carol.

Carol and Bob were avid supporters of many rodeo associations. They were co-sponsors of the Casper Rodeo Club and The Ute Mountain High School Rodeo Team in Cortez, Colo. They were also founding members of the Four States Junior Rodeo Association, also in Cortez. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions be made to any of these organizations.

Carol was preceded in death by her father and two sisters Janette and Shirley. She is survived by her mother Ruby Skogen of Casper; husband Robert, two children Brad (Christy) of California; Lacey J. of Arizona; sister Kay Renick (Bob) of Grand Junction, Colo.; Kathy Halverson (Pat); brothers Craig Skogen (Patty); and Ted Skogen (Roxy) all of Casper; and her two grandchildren Brayden and Brayleah of California as well as several nieces and nephews.
