A native of Pensacola, he had resided in Palatka since 1934, moving there from Crescent City where he had resided since 1925. He had retired as the caustic room operator at Hudson Pulp & Paper Company where he worked for 25 years. He was also a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alma Cora Sherwood of Palatka; two sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. Sherwood and Warren and Barbara Sherwood, all of Palatka; two daughters and son-in-law, Emily Rightmire and Annette and Jim Peters, all of Palatka; a brother, Paul A. Sherwood of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002 at Oak Hill West Cemetery with Bro. Lester Jenkins officiating. No public visitation is scheduled.
