Sarah Elizabeth Abee Ward was the only child of Laura Godfrey Abee and Eli II Abee in Lumpkin County Georgia. They were blessed with 11 children: Fred, Eugene, Hazel, Cora Lee, Elsie May, Louise, Grace, William (Sonny), Alex, Tommy, and Allene. All of Sarah's children lived to be well up in age. Sarah and William moved from Lumpkin County GA to Montgomery County GA in 1929 with 9 of their 11 children.
