MRS. SUSAN A. HANSEL DIED ON WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Susan A. Hansel, widow of Benjamin Hiner Hansel, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 27, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.M. Woodside, in Staunton. Mrs. Hansel was a daughter of John William and Nancy Sitlington Alexander, and was born at McDowell, where she spent most of her life until she went to Staunton in. 1932. She was a lifelong member of the McDowell Presbyterian church. She married Mr. Hansel in 1886, and he preceded her in death many years ago. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Hansel is survived by two sons, Robert S. Hansel, Falls Church, and J. Sybert Hansel, Monterey; a brother, Howard F. Alexander, of McDowell; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral took place Thursday at 2 o’clock at the McDowell Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. G.H. Rector, assisted by. the Rev. R. L. St. Clair.
