John Spomer, the son of Henry Spomer and Catherine Elizabeth, nee Steinhauer, was born in Turner County, SD on Dec. 19, 1908. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Centerville, SD on Sep. 2, 1922.

On the 27th of August in 1933, he was united in marriage with Anna Margaret Heinz.

This marriage was blessed with a daughter, Elaine, and a son, Kenneth.

His life came to an end suddenly Monday, Nov. 13, 1950, when he was killed by a falling grain elevator.

He is survived by his wife, daughter and son, and by his mother, two brothers and three sisters; Henry of Parker, Phillip of Freeman, Mrs. Rheinhold Heinz of Sutton, NE, Mrs. Jacob Spomer and Henry Wirth of Hurley.
