Information from Mr. Void's [her husband] memorial by Dan & Karen Read: marriage to [Void Haggard] Lucy Welch, 22 September 1928, Decatur, Tennessee, United States
Mrs. Lucy was a wife, mother, and homemaker.
She was married to Mr. Void until her death from cancer in 1978.
Mrs. Lucy was a cigarette smoker who developed lung cancer. Despite her cancer treatments she lost her battle to this dread disease.
Mrs. Lucy was a good natured, sweet lady who loved her family and friends.
The last time I went to see Mrs. Lucy was while she was receiving her cancer treatments. She was living with her husband and another lady (her care giver; who may have been her sister, I can't remember). She was keeping busy and passing time by crocheting potholders. She gave me a beautiful watermelon slice potholder. It has hung in my kitchen for many years as a reminder of this dear lady.
She has been missed greatly all these years by her husband, children, and friends.
Since Mrs. Lucy's death her husband, Void; her daughters, Dean & Jeannie have gone on to be with her in heaven.
Rest well sweet lady; till we meet again in the kingdom of God.

My sister called me, while I was at work, to tell me that daughter, Nancy, had been killed in a car crash. I am sad to know that another member of this dear family has left this life. Rest well Ms. Nancy.
I just found out (while doing online research to find sister Dean's FaG memorial) that another sister, Jeannie Haggard-Perry, had already passed away also. (5/19/2018)
