Funeral services for Mr. Richard Elmo Ainsworth, 69, of Houma, will be held 10AM Wednesday at the chapel of Comer Funeral Home with the Revs. Betty Turner Sanson and Curt Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Dunbarton Cemetery.

Mr. Ainsworth was born on August 7, 1942 and passed from this life on Monday August 22, 2011. He was a resident of Houma, a former resident of Natchez, MS; retired from Johns Manville of Natchez, a member of the Baptist Faith and served with the United States Navy. He was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Juanita and sister, Ann.

He is survived by one daughter, Leathia Ann "Tiny" & James Cain of Houma; two sons, James William & DD of West Monroe, and Richard Kade & Pam of Ferriday; grandchildren, Tommy & Terri, Steven & Marlene, & Dylan Parker, Erica & Amber Cain, Taylor, Alex, Michaela, Derick, Cayla & Caitlyn, Amanda, Jimmy, & Christian; Great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Ivana, Aryel, Tomilyn; one sister, Vinita & Danny May of Ferriday; one brother, Ray Ainsworth of West Monroe; step-brothers, Foster Britt & wife Mary Jo of Natchez, MS, Dany Britt & wife Sadie of Boguechitto, MS, Dwiana Emfinger & husband Terry of Natchez, MS; also, the childrens' mother, Diann H. & step-father Red Turner of Vidalia; mother-in-law, Leathia Huff of Natchez, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy & Dylan Parker, David Dobson, Sr., Brett Harvey, Jackie Martin, & Chris Hammons.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and son-in-law James Cain.
