HANNOVER - Minnie Albers, 98, Hannover, died Aug. 10, 2007, at Elm Crest Manor Nursing Home, New Salem. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hannover, with the Rev. Greg Zillinger officiating. Burial will be in Hannover Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elm Crest Manor and continues noon to 8 a.m. at the church, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Minnie Rabe was born May 9, 1909, at Hannover, daughter of Henry W. and Urika (Kuether) Rabe. She married Otto Albers Jan. 10, 1927, in Mandan. They made their home on the family farm, where they lived and worked together until Otto died, Jan. 13, 1963. Minnie remained on the farm until she moved to Hannover, in 1972. In 1996, she moved to Center, and six years ago, became a resident of Elm Crest.
A lifetime member of St. Peter's Church, Minnie was also a member of the L.W.M.L. and Homemakers Club. Minnie loved gardening, sewing, baking and cooking, especially holiday meals for the family.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Correne and Leslie Henke, New Salem; her sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Edith, Hannover, Norman and Idell, Bismarck, and Della Albers, Woodburn, Ore.; a special friend, Connie Johnson, New Salem; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otto; her son, Leonard; five brothers; three sisters; and two half-sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elm Crest Manor Nursing Home, Hannover Cemetery Association or of donor's choice. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan)
