Charles F Abart, 73, Emmet rancher and a resident of that community since he was a boy 14 years of age died suddenly about 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 14, three or four hours after entering Atkinson Memorial Hospital.

Mr Abart suffered a stroke a couple of years ago, but recovered and was in quite good health until early Friday morning. He lived on a farm about two miles southeast of Emmet since 1916.

Funeral services were held Monday at Biglin's Chapel in O'Neill with the Rev Glenn Kenmeott of the O'Neill Methodist Church officiating.

Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, O'Neill.

The pallbearers were Homer and Oliver Maring, both of Emmet, John Abart of Omaha, Capt. B.E. Schultz of Waco, Tex., Erwin Schultz of Fargo, N.D., and Art Strashiem of Omaha. All except the Marings are nephews of Mr. Abart.

He came to the Emmet community in 1901 with his parents and there he grew to manhood.

He married Florence J. McCreath at Atkinson on March 25, 1914. The couple made their home in Emmet for- two years and then moved to the present ranch home near Emmet. They became the parents of four children.

He is survived by his wife Florence; a daughter Mrs. Alfred (Luree) Hennagin of Portland Ore.; three sons. Kieth Abart of O'Neill, Dercy Abart of Emmet and Gailard Abart of Omaha; two half brothers, William Crawford of Pomona, Calif., and Carl Crawford of Norfolk; one half sister, Mabel Crawford of Hastings; eleven grandchildren and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister
