Aubrey Eugene Reed, 77, of Lake Charles, LA died at 12:45 PM on Monday, January 28, 2013 in his residence.
Mr. Reed was born February 13, 1935 in Basile, LA, where he was raised and has lived in Lake Charles for the past forty-six years. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his rosaries that he made.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Leona Thibodeaux Reed; daughters, Doris LeJeune and husband Joseph of Rayne, LA and Carol Landry of Sulphur, LA; son, Godfrey Reed of Basile, LA; brother, Davis Reed and wife Teressa of Richmond, KY; sisters, Effie Manuel of Elton, LA, Sue Bushnell of Basile, LA, and Eldie Pratt and husband Herbert of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Sabrina Dugai, Dillon LeJeune, Eric Bergeaux, Rachael McDaniel, Eugene Veillion, Douglas Veillion, Allen Fruge, and David Fruge; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his mother, Avaia Dupre Reed; father and step-mother, Ava Reed and Una Mae Reed LaFleur; sister, Laura Deshotel; daughter, Debra Reed Bergeaux; and sons, Avrol Reed and Aubrey Reed, Jr.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Eugene Catholic Cemetery in Grand Chenier, LA. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
