Mrs. Garnet Eline Abbott, age 83, of Newaygo, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Newaygo. She married George Clare Abbott on October 28, 1949 in Newaygo and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2011. She is survived by her children, Greg Abbott of Lansing, Gayle Abbott-Porter of Newaygo, Glenda Abbott of Newaygo; three grandchildren; her sisters, Eleanor Coburn of Harrison, Ardis Shattuck of Twin Lake. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the VFW Post #4249 near Newaygo on Saturday, February 16, 2013 with Clint Abbott officiating. Interment in Newaygo Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 PM Friday at McKinley Funeral Home, Newaygo. For memorials please consider a charity of your choice.
