OBITUARY NOTICE: Carson City Gazette, Montcalm, Mich. FHL #1,295,513 July 21, 1893. Number 29. Col 2, Pg 1. "Mrs. Hannah Abbott", an old and highly respected pioneer of this place, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sam'l LaDue, on Division St., Friday morning, the 14th. She was nearly seventy six years old and had lived here since 1856, several years before Carson City was started. She was born in Erie county, N. Y., Sept. 10th 1817. Of a family of nine sons and daughters four survive her; her husband, Robert Abbott, died exactly eight years before her death. She had known the hardships and privations of pioneer life and was much esteemed by all who knew her. She had been a consistent, faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church for sixty years and at one time donated a site for the M.E. (Methodist) Church of this village"
