Leonard D. Abbott, 65, of Frankfort passed away at 11:09 PM on February 23, 2013 at Clinton House Health and Rehabiltation Center.

Leonard was born on March 21, 1947 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Oscar and Evelyn (Dishman) Abbott. He married Barbara J. Sheets on APril 1, 1967 and she survives.

He was employed at Emerson Controla for 13 years and then he worked for the Frankfort Street Department retiring in 2010. Fishing and Hunting were passions of Leonard "a true outdoorsman". He enjoyed family cookouts and four wheeling through the mountains of Kentucky with his brothers.

He is survived by his Wife of Frankfort, one daughter Melissa L. Morrison of Franfort and two sons, Richard Bryan (Wife Christina) of Frankfort and Jason Michael (Wife Stephanie) of Brownsburg. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Bryan, Heather, Ashley, Camden and Jacklson and one Great-Grandchild: Railyn.
Two Brothers Bruce and Huey Abbott both of Kentucky and one Sister Margie Crabtree of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Genda Funeral Home Frankfort and services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10:30 am with Larry Foster officiating at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
