Charles Thomas McDowell, 49, of Otto, N.C., passed away, Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. Born in Macon County, he was
the son of Lucy "Merle" Bradley Adameit and the late Thomas M. McDowell Jr. He was a trainer for the Hanes Textile
Company for 21 years and loved golfing and reading. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Linda Brown and husband Tim of Demorest, Ga. and Janice
Tyler of Mountain City, Ga.; two brothers, Edward McDowell of Mountain City and Tracy McDowell of Otto; one niece
and two nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one nephew.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Gabe
Southard and Rev. Vic Greene officiating. Burial was in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tracy
McDowell, Eddie McDowell, Greg Allen, Jesse Harkins, Roy Quilliams, and Lance Kilby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bryant- Grant Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Franklin,
NC 28734.
