The funeral for Lois Johnson, 68, of Leeds was held July 21 at Leeds Lutheran Church. Interment was in Immanuel Cemetery, rural Esmond. She died July 17, 2008 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. The Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds was in charge of arrangements.
Lois ann Aabrekke was born Dec. 25, 1939 in Minnewaukan to Carl and Lillie (Swenson) Aabrekke. She was reared on her aunt and uncle's farm and attened school in Harlow. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Church, rural Esmond. On Nov. 21, 1969 she married Darrell Johnson in Renton, Wash.
She loved fishing, gardening, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell of Leeds; a son, Dion (Teri) Johnson of Leeds; a daughter, Dena (Robert) Daws of Minot; four grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer (Mardell) Aabrekke of Milnor and Ivan (Bonnie) Aabrekke of Minnewaukan; and six sisters, Shirley (Dennis) Olson of Edinberg, Kathy (Lyder) Lundgren, Diane (Rodger) Carlson and Connie (Tom) Langley, all of Park River, Sandy (Tom) Cudmore of Grafton and Linda (Allen) Henning of Evansville, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Jr.
