Laura Beatrice Hellickson was born March 7, 1921 in Tea, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Willhite) Rector. Bea married LeRoy Hellickson on August 9, 1942 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and they were the parents of three children, Charles, Marie and Roger. Bea was a homemaker and had also been a baker at the Madrid Home, a cook at Matt's Lounge and she and LeRoy used to serve the meals at the 4-H Camp. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with family and friends. Bea was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle at St. John's.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; son, Roger; brothers, Elvin and Ervin; sisters, Estille and Irene; great granddaughter, Laura Jo and son-in-law, Neil Hellmers. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Charles (Nancy) Hellickson of Madrid; daughter, Marie Hellmers of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, October 17th at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
