Georgia Swank Abernathy was born near Cantril, Iowa, August 19, 1890, and passed away at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa, January 28, 1963, after an extended illness. She was the daughter of Lee and Mary Creath Swank.

On March 1, 1911, she was united in marriage to Ora Abernathy. To this union one son, Craig, was born, who died in 1937.

Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy lived in the Cantril community until 1956, when they moved to Bloomfield. Mrs. Abernathy was a member of the Cantril Christian Church. She was a loving wife, a loyal friend and a good neighbor. Besides her husband, she is survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, January 30th, with Herbert C. Shaw, minister of the Cantril Christian Church, officiating. Keith Gaston was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Wilson. Buriel [sic] in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.
