Ira N. Evans, Jr. age 82, of Bangor, AL, formally of Midfield, AL passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church for 50 years. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a World War II veteran of the Army and he fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Evans. Survivors include: sons, Raymond (Marla) Evans of Clearwater, FL and Paul Evans of Bangor, AL; daughters, Karen (Odell) Ashe of Birmingham and Pat Lovelady and Jerry Nietupski; grandchildren, Bethany, Christi, David, Jeremy, Bryant and Savannah; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Abbott and Lenora Ray.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Chapel with burial in Midfield, AL. Buddy Majors officiating. Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
