He married Lucille Normandin on February 16, 1946 in Claremont.
Survivors include his wife Lucille of Claremont; two sons Brian Abbey of Rutland, VT and David Abbey of Claremont; two brothers Freeman Abbey of Claremont and Donald Abbey of Orange, MA; two sisters Esther Bacon of Charlestown, NH and Arlene Beaudry of Claremont; and six grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Claremont, NH.
