Thelma Geraldine Johnson Adams, 74, of Rural Retreat, Va., passed away Friday, April 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mahlon and Angie Herman Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Donald Adams, Rural Retreat; six sons and spouses, Donald II and Kathleen Adams of Horse Heads, N.Y., David Adams of Fort Dix, N.J., Douglas Adams of Hiawassee, Va., Dan and Penny Adams of Wytheville, Dennis Adams, of Wytheville, and Dale and Bree Adams of Rural Retreat; two daughters, Debra Eschenburg of Athens, Pa., and Donna Frease of Arizona; two brothers, Lewis Johnson and George Johnson both of Pa.; two sisters, Gladys and Lewin Moon of N.Y., and Lena Walchleg of Pa.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Cripple Creek, Va. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.highlandfuneralservices.com. The family is in the care of Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat. .
