Jeffery Bryan "Byrd" Abbott,age 27, died unexpectedly at about 6;45pm on May 10, 2005 while exercising and working out at the Future Fitness Gym, in Lake City, Fl. He had been lifting weights and told a friend that he wasn't feeling well. He collapsed and CPR was attempted by others at the Gym. When EMS personell arrived at the gym at 6:56 pm Jeff had no vital signs. He was a native of Ft. Myers, Fl. and had lived in Lake City, Columbia, Fl. for the past 19 years having move there from Bartow, Polk, Fl. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1996. He was an all around athlete and was active in the wrestling program while in High School. He attended the Lake City Community College where he trained to be an E.M.T. He was employeed as a fitness trainer and the manager of Future Fitness Gym where he died. He excelled in weight lifting and body building, and had won numerous trophies and competitions.He was a Sports fan and loved to fish, UF Gators Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball. Bryan was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of Robert M. Sr and Barbara Lee Abbott.He had 2 brothers Robert M. Jr and Steve Abbott, all of Lake City, Fl. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church of Lake City, Fl. with the Rev. Joseph L. Dunn officiating.
