Samuel "Scott" Abell, age 51, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born in Shelbyville, Kentucky and lived in Shelby County all of his life. He was a Shelby County High School graduate and received a degree in horticulture from Jefferson Community and Technical College. He worked for Winn-Dixie in his early years and finished his career at Bluegrass Nursery, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James "Dale" Abell; and his grandparents, Willie and Nannie Wade and Donna and J.C. Abell.
Survivors include his wife, Sabra; his daughters, Emily Abell and Sara Abell; his parents, Samuel and Janet Abell; his sister, Deborah Abell Kramer; his step-children, Boone Smith and Brandi Smith; his step-grandson, Paityn; his nieces, Erin Abell and Samantha Hogan; his nephew, Dustin Abell; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial: Bagdad Cemetery.
