""QUASQUETON -- Two Iowa men were killed Friday afternoon when their fox-spotting airplane nose-dived into a corn field near Quasqueton. The victims were Harvey Holst, 50, Quasqueton merchant whose twenty-fourth wedding anniversay was the day of his death, and Marvin Walton, 31, farmer and father of three small children.

Holst's aircraft, a two-seater Aeronca Chief, plunged with terrific force at about 2:30 p.m. into a field on a farm tenanted by Joe Kane, five miles east of Quasqueton." The Gazette (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), February 7, 1953

"QUASQUETON -- Harvey Alfred Holst, 50, born Oct. 10, 1902, in Liberty township, Buchanan County, son of Ejnar and Marie Holst, married Miss Mabel Petersen at Lamoni Feb. 6, 1929; lived at Quasqueton the past 14 years; leaves wife, one son, Donald of Lamoni; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Erpelding of Oceanside, Calif., and Hazel and Charlotte at home; two grandchildren; four brothers, Harry, Floyd and Thorvald of Independence and Edwin of Quasqueton; three sisters, Mrs. Alna Abbott of Charles City, Mrs. Leo Mills and Mrs. J. C. Johnson of Independence; his mother, Mrs. E. J. Holst of Independence; member of the First Baptist Church of Independence; funeral at First Baptist Church, Independence, Tuesday at 2 p.m.; burial in Mount Hope Cemetery."
