W. R. Aaron, who states birth as 17 Jan 1843, has a CSA pension application on line under Jackson County in the GA Archives. He says he Enlisted as a private and served with Company A of the 24th Ga Regiment. He was wounded in the right leg between the knee and ankle. Both bones were shattered and never healed. He had to move about on crutches. His witnesses, W. H. Meeks, John E. Strange and G. W. Smith from the same company stated this happened at the Battle of Gettysburg, Pa on 2 July 1863.
