J.N.Abbott Dies After Long Illness
Jasper N. (Newt) Abbott, 90, Monterey died 8 p.m. Friday at Owen County Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Owen County, the son of John and Maggie Abbott, he was a retired farmer and a deacon for many years at Monterey Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Green, Beechwood, and Mrs. Mildred Green, Georgetown.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday by Rev. David Walker at Kemper & Arnold Funeral Home. Burial was in Monterey Cemetery.
