Mrs. Hickey was born in Heard County, Georgia on March 26, 1015, the daughter of the late Heflin Abner and Tommie Lee Hannah Abner. She had been a faithful member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church since she was fourteen years old.
In recent months she had attended church with her daughter and son-in-law at Prospect Church. In her younger years she worked in the textile mills in LaGrange, but spent most of her adult life doing what she loved most, being a wife, mother, and grandmother. All who knew Miss Lizzie loved her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Emma Jean Gilpin (Arnold); one daughter-in-law, Barbara Lockhart all of Franklin, GA.; fifteen grandchildren; and a number of great and great-great grandchildren.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her Beloved husbands, Robert Lee Hickey and Bluford Pike; three daughters, Mary Buchanan, Betty Brazeal, and Ruth Buchanan, and one son, Douglas Pike.
The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
