WINDSOR - Harold J. (Jug) Abel, 90, of Windsor passed away at 7:00 a.m. Saturday (July 17, 2010) at the Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Findlay Christian Church with Richard Hargrave officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Findlay Cemetery with military rites by Clarence Bixler American Legion Post 490, Findlay. Arrangements are by Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Memorials may be made to the family.

He was born September 1, 1919 in Windsor the son of Harold and Nellie (Walker) Abel and was raised by his mother and step-father, Ed Quigley. He married Nita Fern Scribner November 11, 1938 in St. Louis, MO.

He as a member of the Findlay Christian Church, American Legion Findlay, Central Illinois Carriage Club and served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Young Radiator, Mattoon and was a truck driver for several years. He loved to raise horses.

Surviving are his wife, Nita, son, Sam Abel and friend, Debbie Burris of Windsor, brothers, Kenneth Quigley of Mattoon and Bob Quigley of Baphne, AL; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, son, Harold Dean Abel, brother, Richard Quigley and sisters, Madge White and Mary Wallace.
