Another sad and fatal accident occurred in this county from lightning during the thunder storm of Monday, resulting in the death of Mr. D. P. Abbott, a worthy and highly esteemed man living a short distance north-east from town. He was standing in an open doorway watching the storm, his head and shoulders leaning against the casing, when the bolt struck the house, following down a rafter, through the upper floor, tearing to pieces the door casing and killing him instantly.
