Fred E. Thornhill

Fred E. Thornhill prominent citizen of Pearl River County, who resided with his family at the Jeptha Bilbo crossing came to an untimley death last night as a result of a somewhat unusal autombile accident.

Mr. Thornhill was riding on a truck with a son who was driving. It seems that deceased was playing with a large dog on the truck, and in some manner the dog caused him to be thrown from the moving machine. He was rushed to the hospital at Poplarville where it was found that the skull had been fractured, and death came about 7;30 o'clock.

Deceased is survived by his wife and six children; also four brothers and three sisters. The brothers are J. H. and J. B. Thornhill, of Bogalusa, I. M. Thornhill, Traveling Sergeant of Parchman, and Robert Thornhill, of Sandy Hook, Mrs. W. M. Abbot of Sandy Hook and Mesdames P. E. Cooper and Hershell Stewart, of New Orleans are the sisters.

Funeral services will be held from Ford's Creek church this afternoon at four o'clock, with Rev. J. P. Culpepper and Rev. D. W. Walker in charge.
Interment at the church will follow.

Mr.Thornhill was a member of one of the old families of this section.
