Services for Maxine Abrell, 84, of Emmett, who died Wednesday Dec. 28, 2005 at home, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 3, 2006 at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Burial will follow at the Emmett Cemetery.

Maxine was born on Dec. 18, 1921 to Edgar and Mable Thomas in Anadarko, Okla. She was one of 7 children. She moved with her family to Emmett in 1936, leaving Kansas during the Dust Bowl. Maxine graduated from Emmett High School in 1939. Maxine and her husband Paul lived in Klamath Falls, Ore. They purchased a fruit ranch in the Emmett Valley in 1953 and moved back with their two daughters. They operated the ranch for many years. Maxine enjoyed knitting, and playing pinochle. She volunteered at the VA for many years and was a girl scout leader. She was a member of the NAT Club.

Maxine is survived by her two daughters Daryleen McMillan of Boise, and Lorna (John) Hartman of Emmett; her grandchildren Tressa Bromgard, Jeanie and Aaron Poole, Craig Hartman and fiance Bertha, Chris and Marilyn Hartman, and Lisa Shipp; great-grandchildren Tara and Joe Walbuck, Ricky Nelson, Hailey Mangum, Lane Poole, Michelle Hartman, Melissa Hartman, Amber Hartman, Alex Shipp and Parker Hartman; sister-iin-laws Donna Thomas and Rozetta Thomas; nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Abrell, brothers Lewis, Norman, Floyd, Loren, George, and sister Pauline Gray.

She was our mom, our grandma, our sister, aunt and our friend. She will be truly missed.
