William Eugene Acree, Sr., 82, formerly of Richmond, died at 11:56 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at his home in Gladstone.

Mr. Acree was born May 22, 1925, in Henrietta, the son of Charles and Beulah (Chapman) Acree. He married Mildred Evelyn Lillard of Richmond, on Dec. 23, 1950; she preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2000.

Mr. Acree was a United States Navy veteran of WWII. He had retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a 50-year Mason and a member of Richmond Shrine Club. He was of the Christian faith. He had lived most of his life in Gladstone.

Survivors include: two sons, William E. Acree, Jr., of Denton, Texas and Larry D. Acree of Holt; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three half-brothers and one sister-in-law, Charles Acree, Revere Acree, Henry Acree and his wife, Ruth, all of Richmond; and three half- sisters and one brother-in-law, Patricia Euper of Richmond, Carolyn McGill of Lexington, and Mary Bates and her husband, Ronald, of Richmond.

In addition to his wife, his parents; one sister, Virginia Dykes; and half-brother, Robert Clyde Acree, preceded him in death.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Masonic Lodge #57 A.F. & A.M.

Visitation will be prior to services on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 from 10. to 11 a.m. where a Masonic service will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond, with military honors provided by the Richmond American Legion Post #237 and the Richmond VFW Post #4398.

Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
