Funeral services for Alfred O. Peterson, 81, Montevideo, a former northeast South Dakota resident who died Oct 2 in a Montevideo hospital, were Oct. 6 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church here with the Rev. Clark VanderTwig officiating.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery at Montevideo.

Pallbearers were Mark, Brent, Michael and Craig Peterson and David and Mitchell Davis.

The soloist was Mrs. Mark Peterson and the organist was Mrs. Gordon Baker.

Mr. Peterson was born Oct. 5, 1898, at Whist, S.D., to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Peterson. He married Ruth Chell in 1920, at Sisseton, S.D. They lived at Fergus Falls and at Watertown, S.D.

He married Betty Abbott Dec. 8, 1930 at Miller, S.D. He lived at Montevideo after 1930. His occupation was refrigeration service.

He is survived by four sons, James of El Paso, Texas, Calvin of Kerkhoven, Wendell of Montevideo and John of Buffalo; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Edna) Davis of Fergus Falls, Mrs. Douglas (Sue) Easterlund of LeSueur and Lucille Peterson of Montevideo; one sister Ellen Olson of Tacoma, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
