He was the widower of Virginia Linkenhoker Adams who preceded him in death on January 24, 1984.
He was born on August 1, 1910 in Charlotte Court House, Va. the son of the late T. Roy and Eva Bailey Adams. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Roanoke, a member of the Thursday Morning Music Club, the French Club, and the Roanoke Retired Teachers Association. He taught school in Chatham, Clifton Forge, and Roanoke during his teaching career.
He served his country during World War II as a Lt. Cmdr. in the US Navy.
Survivors include his brother; two nieces; and three nephews. (Edited to delete living persons names.) He was preceded in death by two brothers, Courtney R. and Aubrey T. Adams.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 1998 in the Nicely Funeral Chapel, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Dr. William O. Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery."
