Mrs. Erma Gean Smith Abner, 69, of Franklin, Ga. died Thursday, February 10, 2000 at the Southwest Christian Hospice in Union City, Ga.

Mrs. Abner was born April 10, 1930 to the late Helf Edon Smith and Mary Frost Smith in Randolph County, Alabama. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Abner. She was a faithful member of the Cabin Creek Baptist Church and a past member of the Franklin Church of God. She had served both churches in many positions, including teaching Sunday school, president of the Ladies Ministry, and the clerk of the church. She was a retired seamstress for Baby Cloze Inc.

A funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Ga. Burial will be in Franklin City Cemetery.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Kathy J. and George R. Casey Jr.; one granddaughter, Kimberly M. Powers; four sisters, Miriam George, Lona Grant, Sue Burke and Jeanette Johnson; two step-brothers, Aubrey Pope and Robbie Pope; aunts, Kate Carroll and Ruth Smith.
