Msgr. Eugene Patrick Sullivan, 81, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday evening, September 3, 2013, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

Msgr. Sullivan was born July 12, 1932, in Casper, Wyoming, a son of Jack and Margaret (Shea) Sullivan.

Msgr. Sullivan was ordained as a Priest for the Diocese of Cheyenne on September 23, 1959. , He was assigned as an Associate Pastor at St. Patrick's, in Kemmerer, in 1959, at St. Joseph's, in Rawlins, from 1959-1962, and at St. Anthony's, in Casper, from 1962-1967, as an Appeal Priest for St. Joseph's Children's Home, in Torrington, from 1967-1971, and as Pastor at St. Ann's, in Saratoga, from 1971-1974, at St. Anthony's, in Guernsey, from 1974-1975, at Our Lady of the Mountains, Jackson, from 1975-1976, at Our Lady of Sorrows, in Rock Springs, from 1976-1986, at Immaculate Conception, in Green River, from 1986-1991, and at Holy Name, in Sheridan, from 1991-2002. He served as Vicar General of Diocese of Cheyenne, from 1994-2001. His Holiness Pope John Paul, II named him a Prelate of Honor on June 3, 2000. Msgr. Sullivan retired from parish ministry on June 30, 2002, and moved to Cheyenne. He, however, help in numerous parish on weekends or when a priest was on vacation, and served as an Auxiliary Catholic Chaplain at F. E. Warren Air Force Base. Msgr. Sullivan was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

Msgr. Sullivan is survived by two sisters, Ann Diehl of Red Bluffs, CA, and Dorothy Reichmuth and husband, Quentin, of Overland Park, KS; and 19 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings, Jackie Sullivan, Mary Sinadin, June Becker, Terry Berquist, Betty Adams and Msgr. Gerald Sullivan.
