He was born on February 5, 1930 to Gladys and Arthur Leiter in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska.
In 1947, he joined the US Army and was stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana where he met and married Mamie Menant. He retired as a truck driver in 1991. Survived by 5 children Arthur (Debbie), Jim (Cynthia) Gladys, Lee Jr., Patricia (Keith) Houpy, 12 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 60 years Mamie Leiter, parents Arthur Leiter and Gladys Cotton, daughter Mary Leiter, stepdad Charles Cotton, 3 sisters Pauline Wallace, Betty Allen and Loretta Wallace and 2 brothers Donald and Robert Leiter.
He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and brother, who treasured his family.
ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, September 16th, a funeral service beginning at 1:00PM.
