Funeral is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lighthouse Church on Hwy. 1846 in Horse Cave, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today at the church. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Chapman Abney; four sons, Donald Abney, Wayne Abney, Russell Abney and his wife, Brenda, and Billy Abney and his wife, Debbie; a daughter, Lisa Abney Wheat and her husband, Marcell; a foster daughter, Hester May Likens and her husband, Ottis; two brothers, Felix Abney of Mount Sterling, Ohio, and Ralph Lee Abney of Smiths Grove; three sisters, Josie Morgan of Glasgow, Martha Buckner of Arizona and Leota Lewis of Davenport, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; four foster grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
