Bruner was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Havre to Ingebrigt and Anna Aardal. She was raised and educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School. She attended Normal School at Northern Montana College. She taught in a country school north of Havre for several years.
She married Alf Reinhardt Skram. He preceded her in death in 1978, following 60 years of marriage. After her children were raised, she became an activities coordinator at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, a position that she held for 10 to 15 years. She was one of the founders of the activities directors for nursing homes in Montana. Following retirement, she moved to Choteau.
She was married to Paul Edward Bruner in Choteau on June 4, 1986.
She enjoyed doing Norwegian Rosemaling, which is a type of Norwegian decorative painting on wood. She also enjoyed life and being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Rebekah Lodge, Soroptimists, Garden Club, Girl Scouts, 4-H and the Sons of Norway.
She is survived by two daughters, Reidun Rapp of Choteau, and Karen Eggen of San Antonio, Texas; step-daughter, Eloise Erickson of Valier; three grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; numerous cousins and nephews.
