Mrs. N. D. Adams died at the home of her son, J. E. Adams, in the Pleasant Hill district, Friday, January 24, after a lingering illness. Sarah Ann Lakey was born in North Carolina on January 6th, 1837, being 71 years and 18 days of age at the time of her death.
On January 7th, 1855, she was married to N. D. Adams and to this union four children was [sic] born, two of whom have gone before. Besides her husband, Mrs. Adams leaves[s] two children, J. E. Adams and Mrs. Laura Pascon, twenty-three grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her death. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by those to whom she was so dear.
She was a member of the Friends Church. Interment was made in the Toledo Cemetery.
