Mrs. Nancy Jane Wilcox, 88 died at Bothwell Hospital at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past week.
Mrs. Wilcox was born in Miller County, Mo., July 22, 1868, daughter of the late Jim M. and Elizabeth Henderson Jeffries. Her girlhood and early life was spent in Miller County.
She was married in Miller County to Jess Wilcox in 1888. Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox lived in Miller County in their early married life. They came to Sedalia to reside 31 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox were the parents of ten children. Six children died in infancy. One son, Floyd Wilcox, died at Sedalia, Dec. 8, 1952. Mr. Wilcox died Jan 22, 1950.
Mrs. Wilcox was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by: one daughter, Mrs. J.H.Stroup, 2220 East Broadway; two sons, Willard Wilcox, Route 5, Sedalia, and Jesse Wilcox, 1002 South Merriam; two brothers, Charles Jeffries, Columbus, Kan, and Jimmie Jeffries, Brumley, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Priscilla Albertson, Columbus, Kan., Mrs. Mary Robinett, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Floyd T. Buntenbach, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The body is at the Ewing Funeral Home.
