Kenneth Dewey Abel was born on January 21, 1897, in Seymour, Indiana. He was the son of David Oliver and Elizabeth W.Holmes Abel.

He had the following siblings: Ethel Abel; Sybil Abel; Lura Abel; Nova Abel; Ray Abel; Nora Abel; John Abel; Harold Abel; and Francis Abel.

Kenneth D. Abel Expires in Oregon


Kenneth D. "Butch" Abel, 51, a former resident of Jackson county, died Sunday at his home in Lakeview, Oregon, following an illness of a few hours. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. David O. Abel, both deceased. He moved from this vicinity about 20 years ago.

Mr. Abel was a member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are two brothers, William F. Abel, of Concord, California; Harold L., of Grandby, Colorado, and five sisters: Mrs. Edward H. Vehslage, Jackson county; Mrs. Frank Koop, Edna, Texas; Mrs. Frank Dahlenberg, Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. H. Y. Tinch and Mrs. Herbert G. Foy, both of Indianapolis. One brother, John S. Abel, died several years ago.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. George L. Florence, pastor of the Central Christian Church, and burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. The time of the funeral will be announced later.
