Clarence H. Abernathy, a retired farmer, died Saturday, September 23 at a hospital in St. Louis. He was 78 years old. Mr. Abernathy was born March 18, 1900 at Zalma.
Survivors include three sons, Johnnie Abernathy of Lutesville, MO; Roy Abernathy of Lutesville, MO; Ray Abernathy of St. Louis, MO; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Mooney of O'Fallon, MO; three step-sons, Ernest Darr, Charles Darr, and Harry Darr; three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert Poitras; Mrs. Robert Cochran; and Mrs. Michael Tipton; two brothers, Claude Abernathy of Bonne Terre, MO; and Charles Abernathy of Branson, MO; one sister, Mrs. Blance Ward of Farmington, MO; 27 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday at Ward Funeral Home. Burial was in Bollinger County Memorial Cemetery.
