Mrs. Emma Will (Mills) Collins of State Highway 52, Hartford, passed away at her home Monday, Jan. 7, 2008. She was 89.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the First Baptist Church in Geneva with the Revs. Nathaniel Carroll and Steve Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. Mrs. Collins will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 6 until 8 p.m. At all other times the family will be at 2511 E. State Highway 52.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 309 S. Commerce St., Geneva, AL 36340.

Mrs. Collins was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Geneva County, to the late Alvin Monroe "Cap" and Emma Lavonia (Coleman) Mills. In her early years, she, along with her husband, F.A. Collins Jr., lived in the High Bluff community and moved to Geneva in 1952. She attended Bullock School and later graduated from Geneva High School in 1934. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Geneva for many years. She was the last surviving child of the "Cap" Mills family. Mrs. Collins was a very special wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, her husband, F. A. Collins Jr., three brothers, Joe, Leroy and Earl Mills, as well as four sisters, Thelma Cumbaa, Donna Adair, Kate Mauldin, Evelyn Baker, and a granddaughter, Leigh Anne Collins, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Charles Turner of Geneva, Sheila and David Lane of Dothan, Donna and Buddy Sims of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fran A. III and Anne Collins of Dothan, Joe Frank and June Collins of Geneva; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
