George Merle Abemathy, son of William Morris and Elizabeth Abemathy was born on a farm in Sac county, Iowa, near the site of the present town of Nemaha, on December 19, 1883, and passed from this life at his home in Storm Lake August 6, 1962, aged 78 years, eight months.
He was married in 1909 to Hazel Keir of Sac county. To this union were born two daughters, Maxine (Mrs. Elmer Steig) of Storm Lake, and LaVon (Mrs. Milton Zemke) of Walnut Creek, Calif.
Mrs. Hazel Keir Abemathy passed away in 1918. In 1923 he was united in marriage to Susie Conklin of Sac County who survives him.
