Anna Marie Hytrek, 66, Glenwood, died November 8, 2003, at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2003, 2 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home in Glenwood. Dr. Orville Terry will officiate the services. Interment will be at the Thurman Cemetery.
Anna Marie (Wilson) Hytrek, one of eleven children of Vernie and Opal May Belle (Bailor) Wilson, was born in rural Mills County, Iowa near Pacific Junction on May 7, 1937. She graduated from Pacific Junction High School in 1955. She married Robert Lee Abbott on February 13, 1960 in Pacific Junction, Mills County, Iowa. Following her marriage, Anna Marie became the mother of five children, Terri, Phillip, Kathy, Regina, and Bobbi. Anna Marie was a stay at home mother who enjoyed the duties of a homemaker and the activities of her family. After raising her children, Anna Marie became a resident treatment worker at the Glenwood Iowa Resource Center.
Anna Marie and Harold "Bud" Hytrek of Glenwood were married on June 6, 1982 and continued to live in Glenwood. Anna Marie became a part-time food consultant at Sam's Club in Council Bluffs, IA where she enjoyed offering customers samples of prepared foods. Anna Marie's enjoyments included her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In June of 2001, Anna Marie was diagnosed with cancer, underwent treatment, and eventually regained her strength. She recently resumed treatments at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs where she died on November 8, 2003, having attained the age of 66 years, six months, and one day. Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents; sons Robert Abbott and Scott Abbott; brothers Harold Wilson, Vernon Wilson, Jackie Wilson, Robert Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, and Alfred Wilson.
In addition to her husband Harold Hytrek of Glenwood, Anna Marie is survived by her son, Phillip Wilson and his wife Jacki of Bunker Hill, IL; four daughters, Terri Porter and her husband Darrell, Kathy Bussey and her husband Tom, Regina Webster and her husband Jody, Bobbi Rumery and her husband David all of Glenwood; sisters Maxine Pustover of Imperial, PA, Ruth Weed and her husband Dale of Creston, IA, and Jeretta Stivers and her husband Don of Glenwood; brother Rex Wilson and his wife Marge of Plattsmouth, NE; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; seven stepchildren, David, Danny, Roxanne, Rosie, Susie, Tommy, and Sheila; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
