NEWARK
Mrs. Jennie Johnston entered a rest home near Lewistown Monday. She had been in failing health for a long time.

Mrs. Johnston Rites at Newark May 23rd
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Barnes Johnston were held at the Newark Baptist church Friday afternoon, May 23, with the Rev. Eugene Moss in charge. Clyde Myers was soloist with Mrs. Gayle Spees at the piano.
Pallbearers were; Paul Holbert, Foster Mesmer, Ross Smith, Lee Wiley, Joe Miller and Orville Strock. Interment was in Newark cemetery.
Jennie Barnes Johnston was the oldest child of Albert and Annie Skaggs Brines and was born at Newark, Mo., July 25, 1876. She departed this life May 21, 1958, at the Prairie View rest home near Lewistown.
She spent her entire life in the Newark community and was a member of the Baptist church there. Her husband, John Johnston, preceded her in death many years ago.
Surviving are 3 brothers and 4 sisters: Ben, Jake and W. A. Barnes and Mrs. Mary Kouwe of Newark; Mrs. Pinkie Fiegenspan of Wyaconda, Mrs. Alice Abbott of Columbia, and Mrs. Ola Farcar, of Lewistown, Montana.
