Francis A. Abell, 82, of Hodgenville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.
He was retired from General Telephone Co. in Lexington, a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a former state commissioner for Babe Ruth Little League Baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Lee and Annie Elizabeth Morrison Abell; a sister, Nancy Abell; and three brothers, George, Joe and Tom Abell.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Minton Abell; three sons, William Francis Abell, Richard Allen Abell and Dennis Lee Abell; three grandchildren, Melissa, Lori and Richard Abell; a great-granddaughter, Emma Abell and a sister, Alma Nelson.
Burial Middle Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
