DEATH OF J. C. STEFFEN.
J. C. Steffen passed away Saturday, September 18, at the home of his sister, Mrs. James Abbett, after an Illness of twelve days, being stricken with paralysis while driving out from Quincy and later brought to that home. His wife preceded him in death only a few months. He leaves to mourn his loss, two son,. Carl and Everet, and three grandchildren, besides four sisters and two brothers and a host of other relatives.
He joined the Baptist church early in life and was a member of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church Sunday at 2 p. m., by the pastor, Rev. Inlow, the lodges also taking part, after which burial was made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Mr. Steffen was 63 years, 5 months and 20 days old.
